Secrets for Success With Affiliate Marketing

This morning I watched a webinar on Facebook marketing by a very dynamic and enthusiastic Fred Lam. He ended by offering expert training on growing your business at an exponential rate. Sounded good but beyond my budget. However he did offer some excellent tips so for anyone wanting expert advise on economic, and effective Facebook marketing read on...
The first thing he said was minimise your expenditure whist you are testing, always begin by spending only $5. and continue doing this every day with whatever web-pages you are promoting. When you see which ads are working upgrade your spend, but not until then.
He suggested the ads could sell anything from physical products to downloadable eBooks. The advantages you are growing your email list and earning from the products, therefore making a profit whilst growing your list.
I guess by retargeting your ads you can capture "the ones that got away" and give them repeated viewings of your ad. retargeting is set up to capture people who read the ad and didn't respond, it is then displayed to them again when they are online. For example you may be viewing a page and suddenly the ad pops up, reminding you may be interested, this continues for a few days, and is proven to achieve more sales for a low-cost.
Another point he made was only to target one country per advertisement, because many countries are English-speaking but the way the people respond is different, and as you are testing your ads, this will skew the results.
Also carefully consider the age range you are targeting according to your product offered. When targeting your audience choose groups from different angles of interest. His example was cat lovers and fashion lovers to sell cat T-shirts. Therefore considering your audience from different angles. Target only the closest match, and only advertising to the overlapping group; they are then a highly targeted audience. This is achieved by clicking narrow audience.
Fred said his current success rate is 120% profit after expenses by using this system. It hasn't always been like this but he has fine-tuned his ads, we are unlikely to achieve such good results with our first ads but by testing and refining them some ads will be winners.
You are also growing a responsive email list. His final comments were don't expect instant success it has taken him 10 years to fine tune his methods; so we are lucky to benefit from his expertise, and sharing his success for which I am grateful, anything that brings success more quickly is an advantage!
My business is affiliate marketing and if anyone is looking for a simple way to start online I would recommend working with a mentor, rather than sourcing your own products building websites etc. initially. You will be earning quicker with the guidance of a mentor, who provides a range of excellent products for your customers, sales pages and training. You will be working to a successful formula and can start earning whilst you are learning the techniques.

What Is an Online Business?

You have probably heard of the term solopreneur, and you've probably also wished to have more income. Have you ever thought about opening your own online business? An online business is one that you can work at from anywhere in the world using just a computer. Sometimes people think having their own business will cost a lot of money. Online businesses are often very inexpensive to start up and run. But how do you know which to choose?
What Is The Best Online Business
The best home business is one that can be run from a small office using only a computer. Most online businesses don't have many employees, or are run by other family members. The product of the business should be unique and in high demand. However it shouldn't be something that they need immediately such as aspirin for a headache. It does need to solve a problem. if you're selling information, then people will be happy to access the information immediately and not have to wait to receive a book in the mail. Then you need to ensure it's a good business for you.
How Do I Know It's Good For Me?
The business needs to be financially beneficial to you. You don't want to spend all your money on advertising and not receive enough from the sale to make it worth your while. There are times when you will be spending more than you receive in order to get people to sign up for your email list, and then you will make money over the lifetime of that client. This is called your sales funnel. You've probably seen sites that offer a free eBook in exchange for your email address. Then you start to receive regular email with information, and recommending products. If you purchase that product, the person who sent you the email will receive a percentage of the profits. Sometimes people want to purchase a turnkey business which is sometimes good, but not always.
What's Bad About Turnkey Businesses?
A turnkey website is sold as a completely functional operating website. Sometimes you can purchase a business that is established comma but often people purchase blueprints. The idea is that you follow the blueprint in order to achieve the same success as the person who sold it to you. If you are following someone else's marketing plan, you need to make sure that it is repeatable. Just because they say it is, doesn't make it true. There are a lot of people out there selling information on how to make lots of money online following their exact methods. Most of those people are not telling you everything they do. So after you spent money, you find out that there are some large pieces of the puzzle that are missing, and you're not making money.

Do Buzz News Publishers Need a New Content Strategy?

Do you run an entertainment news website or blog that's receiving diminished levels of traffic lately? First of all, it's a jungle out there, and many get gobbled up. Or die of hunger. It takes a special animal to survive and prosper online.
But since that's pretty much true across the board, why are we picking on the entertainment websites?
Maxim, a leading men's mag, decided to switch content strategies and instead of focusing on T&A focus more on fashion. This new content strategy generated 50% more page views and $10 million more in annual ad revenue.
Is Maxim gliding upwards on the winds of change or is it just a fad? We think the former. One of the most important aspects to consider with entertainment news is being there first, so if you want to be one of those who adopted this change of direction early, here's how:
Content Strategy vs. Content Marketing
Many publishers mistakenly think a content strategy means content marketing. It isn't, but it's very easy to get confused.
Content marketing is a popular method for advertisers to strengthen their brand and improve SEO, among others.
A content strategy is something different and more holistic. Wikipedia defines content strategy as "... the planning, development, and management of content - written or in other media".
Literally EVERY business looking to profit from an online presence, needs a content strategy.
As a publisher, your product IS content. So this creates a kind of circular effect where you're often promoting your content with... content.
The Next Strategy
What's that? A question from the audience? Okay... It says here: "What's wrong with my current content strategy? It's worked well so far!"
Good question, and I am not surprised you ask. Once you build some authority on Google, a follower base, and a great promotion strategy for CPC arbitrage - you're on the golden path. But if you focus on business development and neglect your content strategy - you'll lose. Lose big time.
You know very well that we live in a very fluid world. Especially in the entertainment niche. Content can go from a rumor to viral in a matter of minutes, and from a comment on Reddit to a full blown internet tzunami.

The Right Mentality For A Successful Online Home Business

When I first decided to take the plunge and start my own online home business, I had all the wrong ideas. I had seen all the "businesses in a box" with their advertising hype such as, "make over a thousand dollars a week with a four-hour work week sitting at your kitchen table in your pajamas" and the like. So I thought I could just get a domain name, set up a web site, and then pretty much let my business run itself on autopilot. I suppose you could call it the "Field of Dreams" mentality - that "if you build it, they will come." Now I realize that I was setting myself up for failure with that way of thinking. I have learned that, to be successful with an online home business, you need to have a certain kind of businesslike mindset.
First, you need self-discipline. You're going to work your tail off sometimes. You're going to have days when you're staying up late and getting up early. There will be times when you have no idea how it's all going to get done. And your new business is not going to start throwing money at you overnight. You should expect to be working long, often boring hours, especially when you are first starting your online business. Most online entrepreneurs work over 50 hours a week, especially when they are first establishing their business. At least 20 of those hours are devoted to marketing their business. These new business owners realize that they can't just sit back and wait for their customers to beat a path to their door. They have to be where their customers are - on search engines, forums, blogs, email, and social media.
This need for marketing know-how leads into a second point - you need business management knowledge and skills. If you don't already have those skills and knowledge, you may need to take classes, get advice, and educate yourself. An online business is still a business, and all the same business principles that apply to a brick-and-mortar firm also apply to an online enterprise. You need to understand profit and loss and how each is measured. You need to know how to use the various marketing tools, both online and offline. You need some understanding of business law. You need to be able to set up a business plan and make good business decisions.

Laptop Success With Affiliate Marketing

Aren't laptops a great asset? What do you use yours for? Does it earn its keep? I'm sure others like the newer smaller devices but I like a laptop, the keys are bigger also the screen. I have quite a light model so can take it anywhere. It also has great storage capacity. Although I must say I haven't tried cloud storage, I think the disadvantages would be if you are out and about without Wi-Fi you couldn't even access your files. I am a prolific writer so can find something to do without Wi-Fi if necessary.
I have recently discovered "Kindle Blogs" this is another way to get your articles noticed. It is early days for me so I'm not sure yet how good a marketing tool it will be. Or how many readers will sign up to my blogs.
Ezine Articles is one of my current sources of free traffic, I have over 800 readers a month reading my articles, many clicking through to my website and sometimes sharing my articles. I also share them on Google Twitter and Facebook. Sometimes they get picked up by other websites.
I have several articles showing up on search pages, so this brings a little traffic. Guest blogging can bring a great deal of traffic if you can manage to get your articles accepted by influential websites. The articles must be unpublished unique, full of information and well written to be considered or accepted.
As both Google and people like pictures, include them in your articles to get them ranked and noticed, they say "a picture speaks a thousand words". Videos too are extremely popular, you only have to visit YouTube to see the number of clicks a video can achieve.
Video Making will be my next challenge. There is a wealth of information on YouTube on making videos, equipment etc. also free downloadable equipment explained, or you can use you phone.
So for anyone not sure what affiliate marketing is, it is a method of working online selling other people's products and earning a commission on the sales.
You can source your own products and decide what will be best sellers; build your own websites and decide what traffic sources to use, or there is an easier way... Affiliate Marketing with the help and guidance of a good mentor is much simpler, benefit from their experience and work to their tried and tested plan.
They will provide excellent products sales pages and training so that you can earn generous commissions whilst you are learning the techniques. So with a laptop and internet connection you can run a simple business and work anywhere. Start NOW and make 2016 a year to remember!

How to Find an Online Business Idea That Works

You can't take all your internet marketing information and say that's proof that you'll sell online.
You could take ALL of the things that I sharing with you, or another teacher shares with you, and set up your own shop online, and find it doesn't work. You could do none of this, and set your own shop up online, and find that whatever it is that you're trying to sell works. I'm a big believer in just get out there and do it, and find out what works.
If you have an interest in a topic, don't spend the next 12 months trying to figure out if is this the best topic for you. Some people take 2 to 5 years trying to figure out their topic, and by the time they do they find that all the competition has beat them to the market.
Instead, get out there today, put a website up there, start finding targeted visitors, and just see what happens.
How to Get Ideas to Test
You can look at what people are doing and buying offline. One place you look is the bookstores, local bookstores. Another place you can look is the late-night infomercials. 1:00am, 2:00am, 3:00am. It would be worth it to skip sleep for one night and just watch all the late-night infomercials, especially if you're struggling to find a niche.
Have a notepad beside you. Have a pot of coffee, and a notepad. There's an infomercial on every other channel at 1am! You can get 50 infomercial type topics at 1:05am, 50 more at 1:35am, 50 more at 2:05am, and by the time the rest of your family wakes up it's 7:00am, and you've gotten a lot of data. You've got 500 infomercials and their related topics. Group those together: 100 were on this topic, and 75 were on this topic, and 55 were on this topic, 45 were on this topic.
This gives you a pretty good idea of what people are buying in the middle of the night. If they're buying it in the middle of the night, they're buying it during the day. If they're buying it on the infomercial, they're buying it on Amazon. If they're buying it on infomercial, they're buying it on somebody's website. In fact, you'll find with so many of those infomercials, there are websites associated with them. The infomercial is just one branch to the selling!
So, for example, if you do a web search on the name of the person on the infomercial, you'll often find they have a book, they have a seminar, they have a DVD, they have something on Amazon. The infomercial is just one sales channel. So, if you can find it on the infomercial, it probably sells somewhere else.
Another Source of Hot Topics
Another place you can go is the business success magazines, like Fortune Magazine, Success Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine, I think there's one out there called Creativity. You look at the local bookstore, and not the small one, the big one, the biggest bookstore in your state. Take a drive and buy a copy of every one of those magazines. I've done basically this before. I've gone in and bought a stack of those magazines.
You read them, and you study them, and it's amazing what you can learn.
When you're reading, you're looking for common themes. 20 magazines and 17 of them have an article on the same topic this month. What's hot in the world this month? That topic. Why? 17 out of the 20 business magazines have an article on that.
Now, what would be funny is if you buy one every single month for a year, you would find that same topic gets featured every single month. Why? It's a hot topic, and it sells.
And there's multiple topics just like that. Same thing with the advertising. If you find an advertiser that's advertising in one of those small business magazines, it doesn't tell you very much. Ah, they wrote a check for $1k, no big deal. But, you find that same advertiser is in all 20 magazines, what does it tell you? They're making money.
